Background

I/O Software, Inc. (IOS) is a privately held software company headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. For over ten years, IOS has been a leading and independent technology provider for clients within the information security industry. True to its 'honest broker' status, I/O Software's security products are designed to interface with a wide range of user authentication technologies including biometrics, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and tokens.

In May 2000, IOS and Microsoft signed an agreement to integrate IOS' Biometric Application Program Interface (BAPI) and other core technologies into future versions of the Windows operating system. As a result of this agreement, IOS is in the unique position to provide software, services and solutions that are forward compatible with Microsoft's future Windows products, establishing a solid standard for the authentication industry.

Products

SecureSuite XS is I/O Software's complete security software package. As the most comprehensive authentication management infrastructure on the market, SecureSuite supports multiple authentication technologies such as fingerprint, password, smart card, RFID, token, and iris on a single network. With its true multi-layer authentication functionality, SecureSuite XS can use virtually any combination of authentication technologies to authenticate to a local or network account.

SecureSuite XS provides a consistent user interface for all supported technologies, so users can easily change from using one technology to another without re-training or creating new accounts. SecureSuite XS is integrated with Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Professional, and Windows XP Home Edition.

SecureTec AP and SecureTec SDK offer system integrators and application developers sophisticated tools to integrate I/O Software's Authentication Platform into their own applications, solutions, and systems, gaining access to a multitude of advanced authentication technologies and comprehensive management tools.

IOS has also developed a standardized interface for biometric devices, the Biometric Application Programming Interface (BAPI). All of I/O Software's applications leverage BAPI technology, which enables the applications to work together seamlessly and support a wide range of biometrics as well as passwords and physical tokens. As a result, IOS is provides clients with a standardized and modular infrastructure, as well as an upgrade path for future technologies, successfully addressing the needs of corporate and enterprise level markets.
