I/O Software releases Identity Capture Suite version 1.0 to
customers
State and Federal regulators have mandated that various
corporations and government agencies are required to conduct
background checks on employees and potential employees. There are
also new regulations requiring background checks before some
licenses or certifications are issued, such as to daycare providers
and teachers. Such background checks enable employers to identify
those with outstanding warrants or criminal convictions thus
protecting sensitive information and financial data as well
preventing potentially dangerous individuals from working around
children. It's a strong first step toward a safe work environment.
Unfortunately, meeting these regulations can be
difficult and expensive. Background checks are
expensive to administer and the loss in productivity
also comes at a cost, as many submissions can take
several weeks to return. This inconvenient process
delays the hiring process and slows production.
I/O Software offers its newest product, Identity
Capture Suite (ICS), as a simple and easy solution.
The three-step ten fingerprint capture process
streamlines the civil fingerprint process and
improves the image quality needed by the FBI's IAFIS
system.
Identity Capture Suite was custom designed for
civil use to capture applicants' demographic,
biographic, biometrical (facial, iris and signature)
information. The ten fingerprint plain (flat)
impression process meets the new FBI EFTS Appendix F
standards. ICS electronically captures an
applicant's fingerprint using the off-the-shelf FBI
certified livescan flat impression scanner, the LS2
Check from CrossMatch Technologies (formally Smiths
Heimann Biometrics).

guides the user through the process as follows:

Step 1.
The applicant firmly places the four left fingers
on the platen
Step 2.
Firmly place the four right fingers on the platen.
Step 3.
Then place the two thumbs flat on the glass
platen.

2. Each print is then displayed on a monitor. The
computer conducts a quality check and shows whether
or not the impression meets the standard.
3. After acceptable prints are obtained, the
digitized print is submitted to the appropriate
agency.
