I/O Software Presents at Spring 2002 Intel Developer Forum
I/O Software, Inc. and Bluesoft are presenting a new and unique PC authentication solution that uses I/O Software's award-winning SecureSuite authentication software at the Intel Developer Forum 2002 in Las Vegas, March 25-28. It integrates biometric facial recognition and Bluesoft's Bluetooth-based distance measurement technology.

This exclusive combination of technologies creates a personal computer security solution that is highly secure and very easy to use. Multifactor authentication ensures high security the authorized user's Bluetooth wireless device (such as a mobile phone or PDA) must be within a pre-defined distance of the PC to which access is sought, and the user is also verified using biometric facial recognition.

Distance measurement makes the application easy to use by automatically initiating the logon authentication procedure as the user carrying the Bluetooth device approaches the PC. It can also lock the PC and disable network access when the user moves beyond the pre-set distance from the PC.

NATA Launches National Air Security Identification System
The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) launched its National Air Transportation Security Identification System, which will incorporate use of a biometric identification card. FlightSafety will use the identification card for its students at its flight-training Academy in Vero Beach, Florida.

The system is based on a biometrically enabled smart card that essentially holds a fingerprint template, a photograph of the student, and additional user data. In order to gain access to the aircraft on the ramp, the student must first show his card to the dispatcher. The dispatcher verifies that the student is the person pictured on the card and then swipes the card through a card reader while the student places his finger on a reader. Once the system verifies that the fingerprint of the student matches the fingerprint stored on the card, he may proceed to the aircraft.

'Our Security Identification System represents state-of-the-art technology and was one of the recommendations of our Business Aviation Security Task Force', said NATA president James Coyne. 'With the FlightSafety Academy serving as our prototype, additional aviation businesses may employ the National Air Transportation Security Identification System to ensure the highest possible level of security for their customers and employees.'

I/O Software and Microsoft are the technological partners of NATA and FlightSafety.
